Supercoupe Build Up

Ok, for some time now I have been thinking about doing it. And I think I am going to do It, but I have some questions. I will get a SC block bored 30 over new forged pistons, RGR Heads, RGR Intakes 216/225 Cam, What else will I need to get to have that block work, its just basicly taking off parts from my stock 3.8 and putting it on the new SC block. I am also getting A V-1 in december. Please Help me out.

How's about some more stroke? Or was that the idea as well. If you're building her up, might as well get 4.3L out of her (.1L from bore of 30 over, 4.2L on normal block). Bolting on a roots blower would be a lot cheaper than going for a V-1... unless money is of no concern.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I will need a SC block for as little money as possible later on. I think I'll just have to go to a ton of JY's and finally luck out. Engines there are 100-50 there usually.

Rgr has one so I might just buy it and have people he knows do the work, then have him hold it until I buy Heads intake cam, slap it on the block and then finish it off here

I hope you can take some pictures of the process so us po' boys can at least touch the screen...ha! All jokes aside, proud for you, look forward to hearing the "war stories" after she comes alive.

What years did the SC run the V6? I'm an idiot on the T-birds and nearly one on the Mustangs. I've got some warranty left on my ride, so I won't touch the engine for a while, but a little side project buildup to put in "the shed" wouldn't hurt anything at all.

2003 White 3.8/Auto/No mods YET. Now considering what massive horsepower mod to do first.

SC was 89-95 T-Bird setup.

The later 89's had the better (forged) cranks and were internally balanced.
This was maintained thru to the end of the car's availability in 1995.

Well this looks just like the thing I need. I'm about ready to pull my 92sc engine and rebuild it then drop it in my 98 stang.
I'll take any info that I can get. I'm really looking for part info that people have used. I just want to do a mild rebuild and leave it at that.

Thanks
Bill

Hmmm..I'll have to keep that in mind. Maybe in another four years I'll start builidng a new engine for my car. Thinking of swapping the heads and intake for a 1999+. And adding a solid bottom end.

For ultimate flow I'd stay Single Port. They can take bigger valves
than split port and it's cheaper/easier to stay single port too. But
for an all-out streeter I like split port, and full race would be single port.
