is it possible to put the starter from a nissan maxima in my 07 v6. the maxima doesnt have to have the key in the ignition, all it has to have is the key in the car.

my grandmothers maxima has a key but it doesnt have to be in the ignition to start the car, the key just has to be inside the car before it will start, i guess it is kind of like a remote start but you still have to turn the ignition knob and the key has to be inside the car

| Re: Starter Anything is possible if you have all the componants.and it has nothing to do with the starter The Intelligent key is one of the componants that makes it work They come on the 07 Maxima and Murano. The only time that you have to touch the key is to change pants .
The key will send signals to the car with in 8ft. There is a manual key inside of the key fob, there is a little button on the back of the Intelligent key you slide it to the side and a manual key slides out. There is a little button on the door Handel, hit it once and it will only unlock the drivers side door, press it again it will unlock all of the doors.

You will have to integrate the Nissan computer into the Ford computer, and bypass the PATS system (the factory ford antitheft system that is the reason for the chip inside your factory key) as well as finding a way to mount all the new hardware and everything still funcion relatively well.
So..to make the post short, unless you have alot of money to spend on something like this, I'd stay away.

Legendary Thread.. nuff said
Just leave the key in the ignition and get a remote to unlock the doors, this way all you have to do is turn the key? It works, but IDK how long you'd expect the car to stay around for if you get in that habbit..
Bro, just get like automatic start or something or leave a spare key in a "hiding spot" in the car and hope noone ever breaks into it.
