Re: here goes a stupid question

A Torque Converter has different Stalls. So you are asking where to get a 3K Stall Torque Converter.

Precision Industries - Torque Converters

I think the PI's are around 700-800 dollars. A 3k stall and 4.10's would work great together.

3k doesnt mean you will take off or start moving at 3k either their are factors to take into account to pick the right rpm stall

i know, it gives me like a 2200 takeoff i believe and when i shift it will be higher up in the rpm powerband. i was talking to a guy today about it and he said that it should raise the rpms between my shifts about 500-600 rpms. which is perfect b/c my 2-3 would go from 3500 to 4k-4100. thats what i am told though.

is that correct and/or am i missing anything else?

Re: here goes a stupid question

don't get confused, all torque converters have a stall...

people generally refer to a car (incorrectly) as having a stall, or a stall converter installed whenever its got an aftermarket torque converter that raises the stall higher than factory. so whenever little johnny is benchracing about his badass mustang he'll usually say something to the tune of "yeah its got 4.10's a B-303 eldey heads and a 4500 stall"
