Talking 94-95 v6 owners

This is to all 94-95 v6 mustang owners if you were having trouble finding a tuner for your car I have finally found one that will work.

SCT X-Calibrator Version 3 from VPN TUNING

You can get special tunes and tuner for around $425 if you are looking into puting a procharger, turbo, or the M90 swap!

I hope this helps anybody out there because i've been looking everywhere. Also don't get mad when you see that it says v6 mustang 96-98, It does work on the 94-95 models to.

And it will definitely remove the speed limiter?

you can get more power from an 03/04 cobra supercharger setup vs a supercoupe setup FYI, or a single turbo for that matter.

Speed limiter? I've had mine past 120mph already and its stock, when does the speed limiter kick in?

Yeah it might have more power but as of right now i'll have $425 in the motor swap just because I have to buy a tuner

Re: 94-95 v6 owners

when the car was stock it would speed limit to 112mph. I changed the rear ratio from 2.73 to 3.45, corrected the speedo with a 23 tooth speedo gear on the sender. the car now tops out at 86mph@2600rpm in OD, turning off the OD raises the rpm, but still topping at 86mph. Went to Brenspeed, got the SCT Eliminator chip that piggy backs the ECM, I saw a performance gain; but the limiter was still there. After three reflashes and no luck, I returned the chip for a refund. They said that '94 and '95 v6's were oddball years. I thought about using an ECM out of a '98 to see if it would work. Any ideas?

Re: 94-95 v6 owners

speed limiter on 94-98 is rpm limited, if you install gears it will cut off about 86mph as you said due to rpm limit~ I thought there was some way to bypass the rpm limiter though

There has to be because mine doesn't have a limit. I still have the 2 73 gears in it for now and I can "peg" the speedo, I've had mine around 125-130 I'd say because it only reads 120 and the needle was past that.

Also I forgot to mention mine was 5-speed and one the owner's before changed it to auto. Don't worry though I'm going back 5-speed.

Re: 94-95 v6 owners

One of the things the Eliminator chip did do was raise the rev limiter beyond 5000rpm (free spin) and when it was in drive(3rd) it topped at 86mph@3500rpm. If you guys could look into it, I would appreciate it. I've also talked to Diablo Sport and Ford Racing with no luck. I would try a handheld tuner, if I knew it would work. If only it were as easy as cutting a wire at the ECM.... Hey Straub, when they changed it from a 5 speed to an auto; did they put in an AOD trans or an AODE trans? And did they change the ECM at all?

They did put in the aode trans i'm going to check the numbers on ecm to see if they changed it.

Re: 94-95 v6 owners

Thanks for checking. Odd how the stock 5 speed computer would run the AODE with all the electronics in it. I may try a 5 speed ECM to see what it will do on mine. If you hear anything else, please let me know.

Re: 94-95 v6 owners

No problem, I figured they would've changed the ecm but you could tell it has never been out of the car until i unbolted it. It had dust and dirt from way back
