Fuel Economy

I was just going to see if people had anything that they knew of that would help out my fuel economy some. I get farely decent mileage, but i was just looking to get a little better, because my pockets are empty and its just nice to not fill up so much. Well anything people can tell me, let me know. Thank You!!

Re: Fuel Economy

lighten up on the accelerator. at least that's my problem. also, depending on mileage, change the plugs and air filter and possibly the plug wires.

Re: Fuel Economy

The best thing to tell you is stay off the little right pedal as much as possible. Take your time getting up to speed and avoid hard braking for red lights and such.

Basically, you want your driving as smooth as you can make it.

Also, make sure your car is properly tuned up. New plugs, wires, clean air filter, new fuel filter, properly inflated tires, clean car (kinda extreme...but every little bit helps) with plenty of good wax to reduce drag. Avoid running your air conditioner except when on the highway, it will actually give you a little better gas mileage to run the air conditioner on low during the summer with the windows up than driving with the windows down.

less drag when you are cruising at hwy speeds. also your car is steadied out as far as rpm's go so the fuel is regulated better even with the added drag from the a/c.

Re: Fuel Economy

change the fuel fitler every year, run injector cleaner every oil change, keep the maf sensor clean as well as a clean air filter in it (as needed).

Exhaust and a CAI do help gas milage with a tune for gas milage but... the cost would probably take you 10 years to make back up in gas milage savings lol.
