I currently have a 1999 Mustang LX with 42% UD Pulleys, Hedman 1 1/2" headers. A Pypes true dual 2 1/2 Off road X-Pipe with Flowmater 40's offset In, Center Outs, with over the axel Tubes. I've noticed power drop with this set-up. I want to get a Magnaflow Tru-X Stainless Steel Crossover Pipe. The question I have is, what suggestions on Mufflers do you all have? I was thinking of either Borla of SLP. Anyone tried these and if so how do the sound? Thanks

Re: Exhaust

Anything straight through with an offroad midpipe will sound raspy and very high pitched.

I would look for something chambered and listen around to other cars with similar setups.

Aren't flowmasters chambered???

The "power drop" you feel is a loss of power below 3,000 or so RPM because the X hasn't been able to start scavenging yet. Your powerband just got moved higher and you won't have that "low end grunt" (not that modulars really have that stock) that you used to have with the stock exhaust.
