Re: motor sawps?

some ppl have swapped a 4.6 into the s197s, but with all the hassle with the computers and stuff its way way easier and most likely cheaper to trade in a v6 for a used GT
as far as the 3.7's you wont be seeing any engine swaps with those for a while i think

It's not worth the time or $ to swap in a 4.0. JMO

And there are a whole lot more things you can do with the 4.6 so why waste so much time for minimal gains with the 4.0?

Re: motor sawps?

I am in the process of looking into what will needed to be done to get a 4.6L in replace for my 4.0L, it will probably be about 4-5K to get the car up and running, this is based off of all parts needed and for me to install the motor myself with some help.

Re: motor sawps?

Yeah u might as well go with the 4.6 while ur at it. Still with the problems that arise during the swap it aint worth it

Enlighten me ?

If you have a v6 your options are. Building the v6, making it a daily and buying a car to make quick, or selling it and buy a v8.

If you just have to swap the motor swap a 4valve.

Re: motor sawps?

Buy a Mach 1 or a Cobra. I wish I would have. The GT doesn't have much room for improvement either, because you can't run high boost for very long before something gives(mainly the rods).
