2005 v6 intake and tuner

sup people. i might have a future problem with my 2005 v6 ford racing cold air intake combo package with my tuner. ok i know a guy with the same intake tuner package and he said that his car is messing up. he said that the tuner is making his car slip out of his transmission. well i mean idk. like itll get up and go but itll like cut back. i have no idea. his car is a 2007 v6 mustang and i ordered the same mess he got. i dont want this to happen to me. he said he might have to get a shift kit or something. if i have to do this. anyone know where i can get this from? i already bought this and i dont want my car messin up cause of the h.p. ill be getting that my tranny wont handle it. someone please help. i would really apreciate this.

Shift kits are okay for cars that are on the track 90% of its life, but I wouldn't get one for my dd or mainly street car.

If you really wanted to, you could get a B&M Hammer shifter. It basically allows you to manually shift the car or leave it in drive and let the transmission do the shifting.

Handheld tuners are perfectly fine for tuning your auto transmission. In fact, it's probably the biggest benefit from the tuner if you have an auto.

The guy you know probably has a bad tune...that or he has an extremely aggressive tune that is slamming his car into each gear and that's what is scaring him.

There are tons of people out there with tunes and CAI's on their 05+ cars and are fine. I'd say as long as you get a good tune for your car, you'll be fine.

Re: 2005 v6 intake and tuner

I wouldnt waste my time/money on a shifter for an auto as it does nothing but changes the looks of the vehicle. All the shifter does is tell the trans to shift on its own or stop at a given gear~ its just a toggle switch in a manor of speaking so a new one wont change that.

I wouldnt install a shift kit in the trans for a daily driver car, a custom tune (a REAL tune from a REAL shop that knows what they are doing) will make worlds of difference in how the car drives and shifts being an auto.
