FRPP springs fittament on a set of Gt struts

Anyone use a set of GT takeoff shocks/struts for the v6 mustang?? I'm looking at the FRPP set since I'm on a strict budget. Would I have to put the GT set on the struts or are the v6 ones compatable to the struts?? I know the struts for the gt will give it a more harsher ride but will the v6 springs work?

im sure it will work fine, the springs are not THAT much softer than a GT front/rear if any. If I was going through the trouble of doing shocks/struts I would at least pick up a set of ford racing C springs and put them in at the same time. I would also rather have mach 1 spec tokicos than GT shocks/struts

Spector-

Trust me if my budget would allow me to do that I would. But since I just had my second child last week, the Mustang budget just got tighter. If I could afford it I would go all out on the FRPP Suspension Pack for the V6, but a second mouth to feed forces me to give up on that....for now. Do you know about offhand what the C springs run??

C Springs are not that bad, look for some used ones for around 100 front /rear the reate is 650 front and 300 rear. The OEM shocks/struts will be fine for a while and depending on the drop amount C springs may not requires C/C plates but.... you never know.

Ford Racing has "F" springs for the V6 and gives the best ride.

being the owner of a Mach ,i wouldn't go with the Tokico's ,they are a very soft ride , the Mach suspension is set up for drag and is very soft and complaint ,the GT's that year have a firmer and sportier ride , the Mach's almost mushy ......

Re: FRPP springs fittament on a set of Gt struts

the mach 1's have stiffer springs (closer to 600/300 like the ford C springs) so not sure how they can be softer than a GT.

get some ford C springs and good shocks/struts that match that rate and you will be good regardless though.

Re: FRPP springs fittament on a set of Gt struts

listen if the springs are stiffer ,i'm a nut bag , i've had this carfrom day one and it rides soft and cushy ,i've been in many gt's 99-03 that ride a lot firmer and stiffer than my mach .... and i've even checked it out ,its supposed to be that way ,it was called the muscle car suspension by Ford / maybe stiffer springs and softer struts ? but i dont think so , thinks its all soft / the front end lifts to well under acceleration , or that could just be the POWER !!!! BY the way : nice #'s on your Cobra

Re: FRPP springs fittament on a set of Gt struts

I've been in plenty of Machs and GT and I disagree. The Mach has a more responsive, stiffer, agressive ride quality to me. I used the Mach Springs and Struts/Shocks in my 01 Cobra when I went Solid Axle also.

Re: FRPP springs fittament on a set of Gt struts

I think the GT in 99-04 has a 450 front rate springs (linear)
