Re: UDP or not?

I don't have experience with the V6 UDPs but..

1) I've seen cranks break using these on the 4.6..

2) If you want to go with a blower in the future, you'd have to remove it

3) I've been in several before/after, in my opinion, the SOP gain does not outweigh the downsides..

and 4) By doing this you're slowing down the speeds of the accessories which were designed to work at factory RPMs.. IE : water pump, alternator, etc.

Re: UDP or not?

^^^All this is very true.

There are quite a few people out there who have had their cars dynoed before and after a pulley install and showed some gains...~7-10 rhwp (this of course is based off dynos and dyno conditions, environment, weather, controlled and uncontrolled variables pertaining to the car, and many other variables involving dyno runs)

Not bad, but as said, if you plan on supercharging it'll have to be removed, and you're altering the normal speeds/patterns at which OEM parts run.

For the 99-04's a UDP from ASP Racing is 225...I'd personally save up for a tuner or gears/tlok, hell maybe look into a windstar intake if you want an engine mod.

Re: UDP or not?

a V6 will gain about 5-7rwhp/tq there about wtih a 25% underdrive crank pulley~

in 00 or 01 they changed from internal balance to external or visa versa on the 3.8L motor. Keep that in mind there two be one for the two year sets. Overall I had one on my 01 and I felt it was worth 200 bucks~ good investment and easy to install (impact needed). When you install it if its not put on with the RECOMMENDED tq specs it can back our not go in enough and cause misfire error codes or worse.
