New Guy

Hello everyone, for about a month now I got a used a Mustang V6 2000 (35th Anniversary Edition), 5 speed-standard, everything is stock on it, it has 96,000 miles on it...it's my first car, and I want to learn a lot about cars as possible... so can anyone tell me some pro's or con's to this car???

Re: New Guy

Lots of pro's: You will now slowly make this car your own. Its hard to find two that look alike. Change the exterior slightly or you can go crazy with it. The engine doesn't have quite the list of mods to choose from as the v8 but there are a ton of things to do to achieve better performance.
Look at the sticky provided atop V6 Forum in regards to Mods ect.
It is endless.
Reliability is fantastic as long as you don't ignore anything. I have 200k+ miles and run pristine.
Ask any question any time- Real smart guys are out there to answer.

Re: New Guy

they are great cars, simple to work on, easy to repair money wise. Spare parts are everywhere. The only real down side is its a push rod OHV motor (good and bad) so the gas mileage is not great... but its cheap to fix.

Generally they are good cars unless they are neglected. There are more things that have to be done other than just oil change and adding gas so keep that in mind.

Re: New Guy

welcome

V6's are great cars, reliable (if maintained properly), easy to repair, and fun to mod, drive, and play with.

You can start appearance modding (exterior/interior), suspension modding (springs, shocks/struts, swaybars, cc plates etc.), or performance modding (engine, drivetrain, exhaust). You can focus on one area or do as many do and mix in some of all three for a balanced stang.

Re: New Guy

one of the biggest pros is that you are now about to learn what you really want out of a car. your gonna figure out how you want the car to run, sounds, look.

just some freindly advice, and im not trying to be a downer. Dont dump too much money into it. Enjoy it, make some upgrades like gears, but once you figure out what you want, go get a v8 lol

because if your anything like me, when you reach the end of the power limits.....your going to want more! lol
good luck and i hope we can help with any questions you have on mods, and stuff.
