Re: screamin demon coil

im sure you would feel a little difference, esp on throttle response.

now.. just wondering i may also be interested in the coil pack for the 04 v6. how does screamin demon compare to MSD(friend says go msd, idk anything about)?

also do i need new wires? or does ford use coil over plugs

Re: screamin demon coil

Gives consistent spark through out entire rpm range.
I run a Screamin Demon coil with a set of Granatelli wire sets and Autolite Copper Core Resistor plugs. I get the best possible spark this way and only sacrifice replacing plugs a little sooner. I bought a used (trusted) Accel coil but it caused miss fire. The SD coil has worked great so far. I replaced the oe coil because the Mustang was a bit over 200k miles and the wires needed replacing anyway. So I freshened up the engine bay with some quality parts if you ask me.

no coil over on the 3.8 or the 4.0 , standard type coil and spark plug wires !!!
i haven't done this mod yet to my v6 ,but will in the spring , i've been hot rodding for years and aftermarket coils ALWAYS help throttle response and power
have a set of 8 MSD coil on plugs on my Mach 1 , nice difference !!! expensive on that car though ,think i paid $360 for the set , worth every penny !!

Re: screamin demon coil

ive not seen any power gains come from upgraded coils on a v6 mustang, it might be there but im not sure on it. Same for plug wires they dont really do anything on the v6. Good to upgrade if you are changing it out but I would probably leave them OEM.

as far as 05+ v6 no idea, I just now MANY on the 4.6 4v with the aftermarket coils like GMS have had major issues with them crapping out.

Re: screamin demon coil

screamin demons are a good mod. the only noticeable difference is throttle response and a tenth or two off your track times. didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it suprised me.

I have Granatelli plug wires with a Screamin Demon coil that performs fantastic. I have run them thru a dyno too, no problems.
What problems do you speak of??
Thanks-
