Speed!

I need help on how to make my car go faster. There are a lot of ricers around town talking crap and I need to shut them up. I already have a cool air intake, 3.73 gears, x pipe exhaust with Pypes, pype bomb. What else can I get to make me go faster?

Re: Speed!

yea, first you have to define fast. Fast for some is 200rwhp, 300rwhp, up to well... as high as you can go. Its hard to determine this as once you reach that level most get used to it and want more and more and more lol.

I find it best is to determine how fast you can afford to go and aim for that. That doesnt just mean what parts you can afford but what you can afford to go wrong with the car. Putting a supercharger/turbocharter/N2O on the car makes the car have a much higher risk of having major issues and if you cant afford those issues then dont do it.

Re: Speed!

Well seeing that you have an 05+ I'd definitely suggest a tune...it'll make those bolt ons (exhaust, CAI etc) much more effective and probably adjust your a/f ratio to it's proper settings after the mods.

I would have to ask if you already haven't had a tune...seeing that you have gears and a couple induction mods.

If not, definitely consider one...you can buy a handheld tuner with 3 different tunes on it...from a mild tune to a higher octane tune which will net you more hp.

Re: Speed!

Plus there is a limit to usable power on the street. Must more than 450rwhp in about a 3600lb car its about pointless without slicks

I would agree with you but if you are running 315s and drop the car and better suspension you can still hook it on drag radials ( just got to practice being Gentile) besides at 65mph on the freeway 800hp is very usable!!!!! Trust me

Re: Speed!

yea tires/suspension will make for more ability to handle higher levels of power no doubt about it.

Well I can't afford a super or turbo. Just bolt on things. I don't want to put to much money when it's not worth it. I have a Diablo tuner just not a custom tune yet. What suspensions and other things would y'all recommend?

Re: Speed!

if you wanna shut the ricers up tell them: "hey go drift or something. oh wait you can't.." (assuming the ricers you're referring to are fwd vehicles)

worked for me so i'm sure it'll work for you.

that's true. i did my suspension long before i bought my blower. you definatley have to have a plan of where you want to end up at, and work towards it.
