The 94-09+ GT's stock come with the 8.8" rear with a tlok. The 99-04 GT's come with 3.27 gears, not sure about the surrounding years.

So you could upgrade to taller gears if you wanted to, but your tlok should be fine...unless the car has a ton of miles (+80k), you might want to buy a tlok rebuild kit.

Re: Wishing you had a v8?

i get soooo much crap because my 94' stang is a 6, even though it is a 6 i have made it look great but everyone still know it's just a 6, i've made a deal with my mom, now that i'm driving she might get rid of her car and get a 2011 shelby GT 500 and i might be giving her my mustang again so i can have that one haha. I want that car sooo bad and she knows i am a responisble driver i am not one of those 16 year old that speed and all that. my step-dad trusts me driving his 69 mustang with a 5.0L in it haha so go get a GT 500 haha

She might be saying that until she finds out your insurance is 300$ a month minimum, I'm 21 with a v8 paying 300, 16 with a supercharged v8, looking at probably up to 500$ just for insurance!

I have not run it on a dyno yet.

Mods
Vortech v2 standard kit non-intercooled kit with 10psi pulley.
Jba short headers
Throttle body spacer
Had a 70mm garentelli throttle body on it but had reliability issues so I took it off.
Motive gear 3.73 rear end
Ford trac lok
295/30/19 pirelli pzero on the rear

I'm sure once I dyno tune it I'll prob be in the high 12's.

I wouldn't trade my v8s for anything. Well except the turbo f150. That is a great truck.

Re: Wishing you had a v8?

I remember hanging out with my mustang club and meeting S#!t heads from other clubs talking crap about my 6er. The ignorant ones always have to talk crap to make themselves feel good, some would even suggest that I sell my car to buy a GT! I told them I could not sell such a beautiful car that I have put so much work into. Its all about loving your car guys! If you do, its all that matters. To this day my great V6 has held up strong and she is not going anywhere. I did however make it a point to go back and visit every mustang club that talked crap about my 6er with my new ride lol.
