Re: I Feel Like A Girl In My Sixer!!!!!!

Get a custom dyno tune....some other basic bolt ons...and you will feel a lot more peppy if you are an auto. Kyle here is pretty peppy and can hold his own with 99-04 stock auto GT's...and 94-98 GT's.

Other than that, with the 2 cylinder delete kit...you will need to turbo or SC your motor to get any real good gains....or at least stroke it to 4.2/4.3L...and then turbo/sc.

Re: I Feel Like A Girl In My Sixer!!!!!!

Put a 2.25" exhaust in, 373 or410 gears in the rear end, get it tuned, pick up some nice rims, drop the car.

After thats done we can talk more on engine matters, but a 6 is really expensive to make power with. Take it from me, over 4g's into the engine and Im just barely over 180rwhp I believe. BUT I am not dyno tuned, nor do I have a manual. Both of which would put my car into 200-220hp range.

Re: I Feel Like A Girl In My Sixer!!!!!!

the 2 cylinder delete kit...
LMAO
well if you had it for a little while, you could try to trade it in for a 99-04 gt. and you should be happy with what you got. i dont know many ppl that their parents bought their first car for them, let alone a mustang. Most of my friends in hs were driving pieces of *****. count your blessings and stop complaining.

If you want ideas of what you can do to your 6, check out some of the member's vehicles on here.

I definitely don't think my car looks like a chick's car...then again..my gf's car doesn't look like the typical chick's car.

Or a honda accord, since my windshield is smashed.

Think of it like this, the only other v6 mustang that will run with your 01 stock for stock is an 05+.

You have one of the faster ones!

Re: I Feel Like A Girl In My Sixer!!!!!!

i wish my parents would have bought me a car for my birthday. i think they ordered me a pizza and bought an ice cream cake from walmart.

add exhaust to the car. its probably the most noticable mod when it comes to sight and sound. rims also make the car look a lot better.

and dont worry about thinking its a chick car or whatever. its not. im assuming you are still a kid. its expected that you drive a not so great car. also, its just a car... not an avatar of your gender. i remember when i was 17ish and gonna get a car. i wanted to get a 5.0 or a classic camaro or stang SO bad. 4 years later im glad i didnt... i cant/couldnt afford it and had to get what i could afford.

hell, im still driving my 99 v6. it doesnt have much done to it... exhaust, tint, intake, and a mach 1 chin spoiler... but it gets me from point A to point B with SOME style. when i graduate college next year... i STILL wont get a better car. im gonna hold off until this one dies (i only have about 80k mileage on it)... hopefully then ill be at least 25... then im gonna buy a BMW or something and maybe a cobra for a weekend car. granted, this is all if i dont go to graduate school... which im contemplating. maybe if everything works out for me i might be driving in a viper.. but thats optimisticly speaking and probably very unlikely.

That's where I'm at. Bought the car to have something nice and reliable to make it through college in. Now I'm a graduate, have 92k on the car, and can't decide what to do. I think I'm gonna follow your thinking and save up for a while for either redoing this car or buying something else.

Trust me, 99.9% of the people on this site bought their car just like yours. Nothing done to it and not an idea of what to do. Until I started doing research I wanted to do flowmasters, altezzas, halo headlights (no offense guys), and a huge stereo and call it done. As you can see from my car now...I kinda went a different route, eventhough the stereo did stay for the most part.

Find something you like in your car and if you have the extra cash in the future, make a wish-list of parts you want. I know I annoyed the hell out of my mom when every year for birthday and christmas I would only ask for car parts. Not anything too big, but things like getting a new bumper painted, new pedals, things like that.

Once you find something to work towards on your car, you'll not only enjoy the car more, but will look forward to keeping it in the future. But..the downside is you have to remember you will probably never get your money back out of modifications. So, if you do plan on selling/trading the car in the future, buy modifications you can swap to another vehicle. It'll save you time and hassle in the future....not to mention money.

Re: I Feel Like A Girl In My Sixer!!!!!!

BTW, it took me having this car 2 years before I did a single real mod to it, and that was exhaust. That was about 2 1/2 years go....once you start college and get a job on the side, you'll be able to plan out saving for future mods.

For right now, come up with ideas, ask questions, and learn all you can. It will help you in the future.

Trust me, be grateful of what you have. Insurance on a V6 mustang is enough (since they qualify it as a sports car for some reason). A GT is kinda over the limit, especially for a teenage male.

haha when my mom was checking the insurance prices on different cars the mustang was cheaper than a 4 door honda accord

honestly, if you want to get modifications to your car OR you want to drive something that isnt a stock "girly" car, i would get a job. in a month you could have a decent amount of money and be able to get some smaller things done. id start with intake and exhaust. they are pretty much the basic starting mods. after that some people usually get new gears, chip, etc. but that can get pretty friggin pricey. rims, tint, and interior things (like chrome knobs, new speedometer, painted trim, etc) are good starting appearance mods and can be affordable (minus rims).

what i would do is make a spreadsheet of things you want and their prices and then plan accordingly of how much you need to save with each paycheck and stuff. its good to get into budgetting habits like that... especially when you are young and your paychecks arent very big.
