Re: engine swap from v6 to 306
if it's a stick u may have to change bellhousing..dont quote me on that. if you go auto, i would suggest a racing aod. you will get consistant shifts as well as cut down on the electronics needed to run an electric unit. as far as the rear end, you do wutever u want or just leave it alone, but chances are you will wanna upgrade to a higher gear ratio. also, u dint say if you were goin carb or efi with the 306.
last but not least, not to deter you. but your talkn bout a pretty finacialy intensive project if your not doin the work yourself. you mentioned you werent a mechanic. it may be cheaper for you to purchase a factory v8 car. the project you wanna do isnt rocket science, but v-6 to v8 swaps are far from novice level ...especialy if you plan to go fuel injection. however, if your adventurous and have aome spare time, knowledgable friends, and sum patience....but all means jump on it. you will learn tons by the time it's up and running.
