Re: dead mustang

It will bolt in, BUT!!! you need a different tranny or belhousing and need the computer and motor harness and possibly a different k-member and maybe a different dash harness to. Not counting the exhaust.

Its much easier to bolt in a carbed 302 since they have the same bolt pattern on the tranny and use the same motor mount bolt holes in the k-member as the 3.8L v6.

With gt40 heads and a 303 cam 300 hp or more. With supporting mods of course like headers and msd ignition and so on. A holley double pumper is a must. I suggest converting to mass air and fuel injection. More efficient and cold starting is far better than carbed motor. Jmo

Re: dead mustang

we put an explorer 5.0 in an 88 t-bird once ,with headers an e303 cam and a performer rpm intake ,with a 600 holley and it ran mid 12's ALL DAY .... you can make good power for cheap all depends what you wanna do .........

Re: dead mustang

everything said above

Plus every part for a push rod 302 is pretty cheap, you can stroke and bore it to a 347 for under a grand and easily reach the 425-450 horsepower range with other mods of course. But you can also put forged internals into a stock block and twin turbo it and make serious power for like $1500, way cheaper than a v6.
I'm going 351W in my stang and thinking about putting a single turbo setup on it later but this all depends on the money situation.

Re: dead mustang

Yes that is the beauty of OHV "pushrod" engines...cheap and easy repairs, modding and maintenance.
