I have a 2000 3.8 that I just tried to change the plug wires on. After about 2 hours, I finally gave up (because I could not get the clip on the back of the motor between the firewall and block open to allow the wires to be replaced) and put it back together. I didn't disconnect anything except the plug wires #1, 2 and 3 from the spark plugs and from the coil pack. After putting it back together I tried to start it. Guess what? Nothing. The motor turns over but usually it fires after about 1 - 2 seconds. I checked the fuel shut off but am stumped at why it won't start now. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks so much.
All plug wires are on the correct plugs and matched to the coil pack.
Hey guys, thanks so much for your input. I actually fixed this myself. I unplugged the wire to the coil pack and plugged it back in and it started just perfect. I have no clue why that worked but thought I would try. Again, thanks so much for helping.
