I need some help here guys and girls I have a 2000 v6 and I need to know how to tell if the engine is internally or externaly balanced I have had a few people take a guess at it but it was not any help thanks for any of the help or hints

They swapped in late run 2000.

Easiest way to tell is to look at the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) on the bottom of the engine accessories belt. If there is a noticable notch it's an early run and externally balanced.

yup great post, thats how you tell, if you install a new harmonic balancer make SURE its tq'ed correctly and all that
