2004 roush side exhaust

So I just wanted some opinions on this. I'm planning on getting a pair of 14210 magnaflow mufflers and getting side exhaust fabbed at a shop modeled after the roush side exit exhaust kit. And as for where it'll come out, I'm planning on cutting spaces out of my sideskirts for them to come out like the roush kit.

Re: 2004 roush side exhaust

the muffler needs to be an inlet/outlet on the same side, you can also use a small round muffler and scoot it up closer to the front and then just run it over~ some do this. Just an FYI.

The roush OEM exhaust tips are about 150+ each new... no one else makes any like them that ive seen either.

Spintech used to make the entire side exhaust kit so check into that.

As far as side skirt cutting the stock skirts dont come down low enough and you will see the pipe so it wont look good. Some just let them hang right under the skirt~ so consider that or buy the roush side skirts (but may require fabbing to fit a bolt on kit up to the hole area right)

NEVER lower your car if you do side exhaust lol its just to low

Yeah, the 14210 is a same side outlet. Oh, and I'm planning on removing the cats, do you think that would sound to ricey?

Oh, and I would just get regular exhaust tips, the roush ones are too expensive.

I know... But the sound level isn't the problem, the tone matters... I want a deep sound.

As far as doing the exhaust plus lowering just be careful I have a stage 2 Roush and you have to plan your trips otherwise you hit the mufflers on speed bumps and so on.

I like BORLA. Has a great low tone. Sounds beautiful.

Re: 2004 roush side exhaust

lowering is the death of our exhaust system... especially a side exhaust... granted i went extreme with my drop, I have gone through two sets of cat backs before just finding a set up that I liked while running a complete straight pipe with a 3" pipe added in to kill some of the back-pressure. Just study a lot, and read a lot about it on some forums. Good luck!

the 3.8L will sound bad when you dont have good mufflers or cats, loud is not good. It wont sound good. I would keep the cats and go with a normal chamber muffler. It might not be super loud but it will sound better and be loud enough if it exits by your door.

I have a 6 with no cats and BORLA true duals and I get compliments all the time. Sounds really good. Just saying

Idk, I'm not going for loud. The magnaflows I'm looking at are quiet as far as everyone says. And, side exhaust systems are supposed to be more restrictive, so I wanted to counteract the back pressure

some people think the louder it is the better it is, sound is very subjective. I just would hate for people to do all this stuff just to have something that they feel sounds bad. Just listen to it in person or on the internet and get an idea of what you are getting into.

I had two v6s 3.8L's in my previous mustangs and both just had a catback and they still sounded ricy at the higher rpm levels, but down low they sounded good.

That's what I'm going for... I don't want it to attract cops, but I want it to sound nice and deep down low. And yeah, theres no way of getting away from that ricey sound. Damn even firing engines...

Yah. But I think that's gonna happen with a 6. I will buy long tubes soon but I do have a 900 $ BORLA stingers and they sound really nice.
