Cai question

Ok who agrees that it doesn't matter what brand cai you get? I hear different answers a lot off people tell me it does not matter don't waste your money on windstar k&n or bbk and just get the cheap am cai . Also I hear different answers on the hp increase. Some say you get none at all some say 2 hp some say 10-15 I want go hear y'all answers

I think the design matters but not brand. Cai should be designed to pull in cold air. If it's just sitting in the engine bay and not insulated from engine heat, worthless.

The hp improvement depends on the quality of the stock cai you already have (which varies depending on the year of the car). A cai will make little to no improvement for new edges and s197s

Your pretty close sno. Learning for sure. He is right that a cai doesn't do **** on a new edge. 05 and newer however with a new tune respond well to them. I have a bbk on my car right now. 100 bucks and the filter has only been on 2 driving months if you want it cause I am going back to stock. Let's remember what we learned. ON A NEW EDGE THEY DONT DO ****.

Re: Cai question

for a 99-04 v6 just about any and all will end up doing the same basic thing... not much. Dont expect any big power gains, maybe 5rwhp if you are lucky. I had a MAC intake on my 01. It was chrome and held up good. Ebay has them for cheap but... the quality sometimes sucks.

Omg. Dude. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. THEY DON'T DO CRAP. THEY LOOK GOOD THAT'S IT. How many times I gotta tell you that. WTF is the difference between any of em. Plastic or metal. That's it. Think about it and there is no truth in advertising. IF and that's a really big if your stock airbox was restrictive, which it isn't,a cai would free up some horses but the new edge stockers were great up to 400 horse. Then you would need bigger intake tube and filter but you aren't in a sixxer. Stop fooliing yourself thinking that a cai is gonna give you some power. It won't. And this bbk was worth 200 bucks. If you want it I will ship it to you Monday with all the hardware. You need your maf housing and sensor. K what have we learned today Joshy. A CAI ON A NEW EDGE DOESN'T DO ****. K. Lesson over.

I've tried a cai and even the stock box with the silencer removed, there was no difference what so ever. On the new edge stangs you money is much much better spent elsewhere. Unless of course you just like the way it looks, which I can understand, but there is no power increase that you would notice and gas mileage did not change for me either.

I tell ya 93. This kid asks the same question over and over again thinking the answer is gonna be different. I have been telling him for a month that they give no performance gain. Dense like granite. I might have to go into my options and hit ignore so I don't have to keep seeing the same damn thing over and over. He must drive his parents nuts. Like talking to a wall. Sorry joshy but you are a very frustrating young man

Omg. Dude. Everyone here has told you the truth about them. Believe what you want. I have one. I am selling it to go back to stock. Don't you think if there was ANY performance gain at all I would keep it. The reviews are 16 year old kids who believe the hype. Which you obviously are too. If you want this one it's yours. Nice name brand you can show all your buddies at school. Makes that stupid sucking sound. And oh ya DOESNT DO **** FOR PERFORMANCE. It got good reviews, gimme a break. So did the chevy volt
