Grille delete

I had done a cheap grille delete on my 03 by removing the honey comb and mounting the pony from my 94. Looks ok at a distance but you can see the holes in the bumper. I just ordered the grille delete kit from AM and am just goin to do it right, can't wait for it to get it!

Grille deletes look awesome. Better than stock honeycomb.

Re: Grille delete

yea the part you are missing is the radiator grill cover part that goes behind the horse, it is hard to install but looks good when put in. The bumper will have to come off to put it on.

Re: Grille delete

i didn't have to remove my bumper to put mine on. just had to be extremely careful not to get any scratches. the grille delete is a great mod!

Re: Grille delete

how did you get the part that bolts behind the horse on(the horse goes trough it) You would have to at least remove the push pins for the two posts by the headlights.

Re: Grille delete

you will need it, its not expensive I dont think. Its on the mach 1 and cobra, radiator cover part~ the one you want wraps up around the top lip some of them done~ make sure its from a mach 1 or cobra and it will be the right part.

Is there such thing as a grille delete for the new S197s? I still dont really understand exactly what it is...does it just cover up the grille? Or do you replace the grille?

Stock

Mach 1 Grille Delete

It basically replaces the stock honeycomb grille. Imo if you want a clean, stealthy look then this is the way to go. The third piece is a must...it looks 100 times better with the radiator cover.

Damn dude...I literally popped my hood, unscrewed the pony, and put the 3rd piece in place...I didn't remove or take anything off.

there are two types of inserts, the one that some 99-01s had factory and the actual mach 1/cobra radiator grill cover.

The correct one loops around the top lip above the pony and the in correct one leaves a gap here. Perhaps you have the incorrect one since it doesnt come out as far on the bottom? This allows it to pop right in~ just at thought. Got a pic?

Re: Grille delete

Here's a pic of the 3rd piece installed. It is the same piece that comes with the Mach 1 3pc set, and is the same as 04TRV6's.
