Re: My Mustang is down

well the plan was for me to buy a GT by the end o of summer and give my brother my V6. but as of now the mustang was my main means for transportation. And I need a car bad so the money i had saved for the GT will be going back into my V6.

Re: My Mustang is down

the good part is the V6 is an easy and very cheap motor to rebuild. When it does break it will cost FAR less than most anything else to fix.

Re: My Mustang is down

Yah you should be able to find a low mileage 3.8 for pretty cheap...if you want to just get the car running again buy a cheap 3.8 and drop it in, don't do any building or mods...then maybe in a year or less you can still sell it and get the v8.

There's a few mustang salvage yards that sell the engines/transmissions...very reasonable depending on mileage and condition.

Good idea, I'm gonna use the block from my 94 and do that. It would be a ***** to move around the house though...

I have a piece of glass in the basement that is waiting for this very project. I'll put the block on a cart with casters so I'll be able to move it around fairly easy.

Re: My Mustang is down

well got her into the shop today. Well good thing I went with replacing motor instead of a rebuild. I punched a hole out of my block just above the oil pan.

I've had two v6 mustangs both single port mid 90s, and both slung rods. #2 I think both times, and first went through the side, second made a perfect rectangle in the bottem of the oilpan. I opted to go with a 5.0 swap into a 98 and its turning into a nightmare because of some of the goals I set and the parts I intend on using (gt40p heads are great but $349 for shortie headers is ouch). I raw dogged the hell out of the 95 sixer, but the 98s rodcapade made me angry as I was very gentle on it.

Re: My Mustang is down

The old motor was pulled out on Saturday. Once the parts are transfered over the replacement will be going in very soon.
