How durable are...

The 1998 v6 rear ends? I am gonna worried about mine, seems to be leaking a little and it makes a weird whirring sound. But it isn't loud.

Re: How durable are...

They should hold up just fine. Fix the leak and change the fluid. If you ran the rear end hot due to low oil it may need bearings such replaced. That would explain the whinning noise.

make sure you have fluid in there, if it goes dry it wont last. The rear ends are fine. The weak link is the spider gears, sudden shocks is where they have most issues so keep that in mind. Overall they seem to go great up till around 300hp.

Alright, thanks for your input. And lucky thing, I don't have to worry about 300 hp, ha ha.
