Exhaust Opinions (feed input inside)

Okay, asking for opinions from the greater minds of mustangevolution forums.

'96 V6 Mustang Presently all stock exhaust.

I went around some local muffler shops and got some estimates...

Heres what I got, Also feel free to suggest other exhaust setups..

run duals with flowmasters dumped/no tips for $435$
run duals with flowmasters with tips $525$
Single flowmaster with tip $210$

Just like to know which would seem like the better setup or if you have any suggestions involving brandswapping.

One shoppe has "Cherrybombs" as well..he said that those would provide a smoother tone

Re: Exhaust Opinions (feed input inside)

Flowmasters are ok...not my favorite sound though.

And whatever you do, if you run it out the back, go duals. It doesn't ever look right with a single.

What would you recommend? Flomasters, magnaflow, cherrybomb, i heard glasspacks just sound like crap, or any other brands?

Re: Exhaust Opinions (feed input inside)

All depends on your preference. I personally have the magnaflow mufflers and love them to death. I get a nice exhaust note that is quiet in normal driving conditions and, when I hit the throttle hard, sounds great. Never really cared for flowmasters sound. Again, it's all in your opinion.

Also, the price does seem a little high for an exhaust from a local shop. A local muffler shop did a great job with my friends stang. Hooked him up with duals and flowmasters for under 400. Just keep shopping around.

Re: Exhaust Opinions (feed input inside)

those prices are very high... I would shop around. I had custom 2.25 inch stainless steel with two flowmasters and tips ran for 310 on my 01 v6.

No matter what muffler you get it wont sound amazing so try to get one that wont be super loud and sound bad.

Re: Exhaust Opinions (feed input inside)

Well, thanks for all your help...

I appreciate you all..

I went ahead and had true duals with flowmasters and tips, it sounds alot nicer than I thought it would.

I ended up paying 550, I searched all over my town, I guess stuff is higher priced here, or people just like to rip you off more here lol.
