A broken tooth.

Hello, all. I finally changed my rear end fluid, and found a problem with the gears! One of them ( the small one on the top middle area) has a single chipped tooth. Is that gonna give me problems after a while?

Re: A broken tooth.

i have a chipped tooth on mine, and i have no issues. is the chip where the gears ride? if so you may get some noise. just keep a eye on it. if it gets loud or clunky then, or when the next time you change the fluid and its worse, then its time to change them.

Odd picture. Ha ha. It isn't making any noise from what I can tell, but my mechanic was saying the rear end had more play than it usually does?

It was taken out. I'm surprised the oil actually drained, though. It was very dark and goopy. Lol.
