basically its the simple thought of "mine is bigger and better so I can put down those that are not as nice as mine etc"
I personally am with you, if it is a Mustang then it is a Mustang regardless of its engine size or performance level. Some rivalry is fine, but many take it over the line.
I have owned two v6's and loved them just as much as my current V8. I think many people have issues of their own and feel the need to put down others to make themselves feel better. No matter how you slice it there is always someone badder and someone faster.
On another note if it was not for the V6 mustang there would be no GT or Cobra as the V6 is what keeps the Mustang around... without it there would be NO Mustang to even buy.
Once people actually realize how slow their GT or Cobra really is compared to an actual fast car... they will have no reason to talk crap... those that talk the most crap are the ones that have the least idea of what they are actually talking about.

What they said. It's a battle that won't be won. It's to each their own.

Be happy with your car, and dont care what people on different forums think of your v6. Join a local mustang club, you will see that they could care less if its a 6 or an 8 its all about the MUSTANG.

There are bigger motors than the v8. Somebody asks you why you got a 6 ask em why they didn't get a v10 or v12. From my understanding the 99-04 v6 is on par with the mid 90's gt. And the new sixxers smash them by a lot. You really can't talk **** on a stock v6 with 305 hp!

Thanks guys/gals - I needed to hear this, really. I have a 2012 V6 'vert on order and I am super-excited to say the least. Really needed to read some V6 love. I was on another forum for a bit and bailed out due to the almost un-believable V6 hate over there... sad.
Thanks again!

My nephew just bought his first car, an 07 with a V6... He's sixteen and can't afford GT insurance... My brother has a 2010 with a V6, and he loves it... I have never owned a 6 cylinder Mustang although I have personally owned about 8 with V8's, but I never knock someone for driving or owning one...
The new V6 is a hell of an engine...
We have a local Mustang club we just started and we don't care what engine you have, but we did boot a guy out with a clone Cobra... It's VIN says it's a V6 with an auto, and this guy is advertising it for sale as a salvage title Cobra... Not cool...

This is why I enjoy my brothers 2003 Cobra.. anyone can talk down to my V6.. I just tell 'em, you're GT is fast? Then reference them to my brother.. I know, it's a weak angle, but it shuts them up.

I get messed with all the time for having a 6
Its even worse now that im taking auto tech and most everyone has 8s and they aren't automatic, like my baby
but I love my baby more than anything and would never trade her for an 8
I just tell them that the main reason I don't have a v8 is cause my parents wouldn't let me
They still talk mess so I tell them I will have a cobra eventually and then they can't say anything
Lol, but I know they still will just cause I'll be a girl with a cobra
So I just ignore them and so should everyone else
cause as long as it is awesome to you no one else's opinion matters
unless they agree with you, then its cool

I just stopped by the local DD and IDK if it's a good thing or not but all the local ricers said my car is nice, from the color to the HID's and ****.
See, normally I'd take that as a compliment, but IDK if I should be worried ricers like my car. Hahah, man, all you can really do is just MAKE IT YOUR OWN.. because at the end of the day it is YOUR car and no one elses. As long as you're happy behind the wheel, that's all that matters.

It bothers me that fellow enthusiasts will trash other enthusiasts. If it wasn't for the sixxer the mustang woulda died in the 80s. Look at the sales numbers for that decade. The sixxer kept the brand alive. Us guys with gts should be thanking every sixxer owner for giving us the opportunity to have an 8. Simple

You gotta love your car for what it is no matter what engine size, like everyone said the v-6 kept the mustang alive for years and who cares what anyone else says? I love my car even if it is a sixer and so do the ladies. Besides it'll still smoke any of those loud muffler loving rice burners any day so just be happy you don't own a 95hp honda or toyota lol.

American muscle has a YouTube video for install. Watch it. Super simple and no doubt in my mind you can do it in an afternoon. And the whole kit complete is about 500 bucks

I don't hate V6's at all...I dislike most of the V6 owners out there though. It seems like the GT's are always more of an enthusiet car while the V6 is bought and badly modded by every 16 year old out there with chrome hub cabs, chrome fender molding and so on...modded with Wal-Mart goodies.
A nicely modded V6 gets my respect.

I don't understand the logic of "its too easy to mod an 8" it's just as easy to build a six. It will just cost more money. You can do all the same stuff to the six as to the 8. So ease of build shouldnt be a factor, just my observation.....
