Aode Tranny issues?

Ok, I'm having some problems when I go down hill at like 40 something locks up in the tranny and car slows down to 35 by it's self, also when I go up hill the rpms dip down and loses power,( I think it's the torque converter but not sure) and when it get hot the tranny starts in second and not all power is there, please help to diagnose this

I believe the first issue is called 3rd gear braking. Prob the way it's designed. Don't know on the second issue.

Have you checked you fluid level. It's possible that if it is low, it may loose suction when on an incline.

Check engine light on? Unfortunately, transmissions don't fix themselves and they don't get better. Did it do it before the fluid change?

Yes there was a check engine light, and it was doing this before the fluid change, it also starts in second when hot, and when it's hot I loose hp at times, almost as if the e-brake was on then suddenly released

Get the computer scanned. Autozone is free. See if it's trans related. Get them to print out the code descriptions for you. Let us know what you find out.

Your gonna have to take it somewhere dude. Preferably ford dealer. Sucks but thats the way it goes sometimes. Prob not something that can be diagnosed on the Internet. Sounds like internal trans issues. If you are lucky maybe electrical.

Would it be better to have it rebuilt or just sell it?

Your not gonna get much for a car with a bad trans. Just get it diagnosed. It will cost a hundred or so. Make sure they don't disassemble anything. Might be a cheap fix. Worth a shot. Good luck man.
