Undecided on paint

Looking to repaint the stang. Not sure If to go black with red strip on the hood or red with a black strip. Not sure if i want the strip to go down over the front bumper either. What's everyones thought?

red with black stripe !! if its an s197 take the stripe all the way down , if its earlier don't take it down on the bumpers , that's my 2 cents

I'm not a fan of stripes, that's just me. You can never go wrong with black. What year, and color is the car currently?

I'd say if ur waning something other than black and red go with dark blue and light gray or white stripes. Just an example. I know it's not the same car.

Re: Undecided on paint

A black Mustang is always sharp looking. There are paint color options when choosing a "black" colored paint that have a slight hugh or highlights that are brought out in direct sunlight too. Some kind of very small and subtle red metallic flakes mixed into the black paint when sprayed.

My notchback was painted gun metal grey. My favorite color and one of the easiest colors to take care of. Gun metal with black stripes would be sick.

Re: Undecided on paint

It is a 1995 mustang. same body style through 98. right now it is currently red. The clear coat is half peeled off and in need of a major paint job. With the stock hood there is the big section on the hood before it dips down on each side at the vents. I was think of doing the car all black expect that piece of the hood and doing that red as well as the word Mustang on the rear bumper.

Josh I do like the idea of doing like a navy blue with a white or gray strip.

Re: Undecided on paint

I know this wasn't an option.. but I'd do a Dark Shadow Gray.. I think that color is such a beautiful color, nice metal flake in there.

As being a owner of a previous black Mustang, I would never get a black car in my life. It looks nice at night and it looks sharp, but it really is more of a chore. I use to hate cleaning my car, cause by time I'd shower and get ready to go out after it, there would be a very visible coat of pollen on it.. I mean, I look forward to cleaning my new car. The black one I was just like.. ugh again?

Re: Undecided on paint

Ya I keep thinking about doing it black just because of keeping it clean. It really is a major pain. I hadn't thought of the dark gray though. Maybe a gun metal gray or a charcoal grey. Possibly with a strip.

Paint the whole thing flat black!!!! Black EVERYTHING!!!!

actually I'd go with black with dark gray stripes over the bumper as well.....I think red can be way too overdone if it isn't right...

Re: Undecided on paint

Ya I don't want any strips on the side of the car. I just took the pin stripping off that was on when I bought it and it looks ten times better. I had thought about the flat black many times and just think it would look really mean that way. I am debating on where to go and get it done because I am short on cash at the moment.

Re: Undecided on paint

I like the mineral gray a lot. My girl just told me to paint the mustang organe with black strips. I like haveing the center of the hood just black and possibly wraping it down onto the bumper.

Re: Undecided on paint

A mineral grey. She had called and had the black and red paint ordered but this was before she told me last night. I like the look of the mineral gray. Although as much as I love black and red on mustangs and with where I live I would be cleaning and washing the car every weekend. So I am going with a color for less up keep but that willl still look nice.
