Carpet not the most exciting mod.

So I am going to install new carpet in my stang this weekend. It's the first step in changing the interior to black, and the carpet in it it disgusting.

Any tips or lessons learned anyone wants to share will be great!

They didn't have pre molded shag so guess that will have to wait till I'm more experienced! Lol thanks for all the input I pulled everything out last as soon as the sun is up I will lay it out and start lining up the holes with the old carpet. I will add pics when done. Again thanks for the input!

Re: Carpet not the most exciting mod.

Great...new carpet is a great way to freshen up the interior!

I have to agree...don't do it in the cold if you can help it...materials are much less fussy and stubborn when it's warmer.

Sorry I missed the shag carpet discussion! I was a little busy. How do I post pics in a thread?

Re: Carpet not the most exciting mod.

Looks amazing! Did you paint the rest of the interior?
Are you going to try to find some black seats, or going with an upholstery kit?

Re: Carpet not the most exciting mod.

Thanks! Took me Friday evening Saturday and half of today... But well worth it!

I actually painted it with the vinyl and fabric paint. I am really wanting to see how it holds up, if it doesn't I will find some charcoal grey interior in the junkyard or something.

Pretty sure I am going to go with an upholstery kit. I like to do things myself and for the price compared to new seats it's the way to go. I am not going to buy someone else old seats because they are gross! lol

throw some ford racing or some mustang floor mats in there to really freshen it up, and it'll protect the really beat up parts of your carpet so you won't have to do this again in a couple if years.
