short throw shifter

So I'm looking at buying a short throw shifter for my 3.8. But my friend from work told me that he used to have a billet short throw made by hurst in his mustang and he actually lost 3-5 gear because some of the bolts came out. Now I'm looking at the hurst sst and was wondering if anyone had any reviews on it or if anybody has any ideas as to what might be a better sts. I appreciate all responses!

Well I never ran the hurst but just installed a steeda tri-ax in mine. Great improvement over stock, solid shifts, self centers for thirds. Worth the money.

Yeah steeda was another one I was looking at. I haven't really read much on them. But I heard hurst was supposed to be one of the best out there and then when I heard that my buddy lost gears I was a little concerned.
