No idea what is the matter

I need help. My temp gauge is running cool. My oil gauge is running high and I once i'm in fifth gear i can step on it and the car doesn't move. Car runs fine otherwise. Fluids are fine. No blow by. Lost a gallon of anti freeze this week though. Not sure what happened to it. The car runs good though other than the no response in high speeds in fifth gear. I know it's overdrive but it still should give some more. Anyone got any ideas???

Losing antifreeze at that rate is a major issue. And if you cannot see a leak as in puddle under the car it might be getting burned in the combustion chamber. Is there any in the oil. This is a big deal. I suggest a mechanic quickly

Re: No idea what is the matter

You can look at the top of the oil fill cap for gelatin looking discoloration or white smoke would be a bad indication.

Re: No idea what is the matter

See that's the thing. There is no bubbles in the oil. No smoke. No sweet smell. Nothing at all. And it is bugging the crap out of me. My dad says it's nothing and to just keep driving it. He has been a mechanic for years. I can't figure it out at all.

If it ain't broke. It could be a minute leak that is getting evaporated off the block somewhere. Listen to your dad

Ya that's what I am going to do. Like other than that the car runs perfect.

I had a crack in my radiator that would only leak after driving it and the system re-pressurized( would lose pressure because of the crack) but it just leaked enough the it would evaporate before rolling down the rad to puddle. I think it be a good idea to let it sit and run for a bit and look for tiny bubble coming from a hairline crack, I only had time to finish one beer before I found mine

As in doesn't go anywhere period, or the rpm's climb but car does not accelerate.

If that's the case you need a clutch.

Yeah, addressing the acceleration issue- If its not a clutch problem there are two things you can do cheaply and get astounding results in regards to acceleration response: Seafoam the gas tank (one can poured in) and Seafoam the upper intake plenum with an entire can. Its very important to do this regularly with the V6. Makes a huge, huge difference.
Lastly, for $99.00 you can get a VAP Intake Spacer and install it yourself very quickly. It has been my favorite mod for the money.
ALSO- Make sure your not suffering performance wise just because of a dirty air filter.
Please update if you take me up on my advice. I want to know. Good Luck!

Re: No idea what is the matter

I put a brand new clutch in it when I did the motor swap. I will buy a can of seafoam today and put it in after I fill up on gas tonight and see how that works. Does a throttle body spaceer really make that big of a difference?
