Ball Joint Question/LoweringSprings&CCPlates

Can someone help me with a question I have regarding my lowering springs install I am about to have done? I have purchased Ford Racing "B" springs, KYB Shocks/Struts, Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, and Steeda X2 Ball Joints. Do I have to purchase a bump steer kit for installation of the X2 ball joints?

When lowering it's not a bad idea to get the bumpsteer. I have no problems with mine, but I don't have the x2's. Some one may chime in that has em

Ok, thanks. Which bumpsteer kit did you get?

Re: Ball Joint Question/LoweringSprings&CCPlates

I just re-read my post, I worded it wrong. I don't have a bumpsteer kit, but I do not have an issue with bumpsteer. I don't have the X2's however, so that could play a factor in needing the kit. I had looked at getting the X2's, but don't want to lower my stang any more, it sits and drives perfect for my taste.

What springs- shocks/struts did you use if I may ask? Do you like it OK?
Thanks for helping.

i would call maximum motorsports and talk to them before you install/order those ball joints. I am sure they can help you determine what works, whats needed, and whats not needed.

Re: Ball Joint Question/LoweringSprings&CCPlates

I used Drop-zone 1.5" springs, Monroe sensa-trac fox struts up front, and fox shocks in the rear. My isolators were in good condition, so I am using those as well. I ordered cc plates and something got jacked up in the process so I have to reorder, when I get those in I am going to replace the balljoints and get her aligned. I'm very happy with how she rides and corners, it may not be the best setup for autocross, but my stang is a street only daily driver.

Re: Ball Joint Question/LoweringSprings&CCPlates

The ball joints and bumpsteer kits are completely seperate items. I recommend getting the bumpsteer kit also as it will help you dial in the alignment completely and will also eliminate bumpsteer.

Re: Ball Joint Question/LoweringSprings&CCPlates

Ok, thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. I already have purchased the items mentioned above, including the ball joints. I will be looking into getting the bumpsteer kit and should have it soon.
I'm also going to call Maximum Motorsports. That's good advice. I'll fill them in on what I have in my possession and about to have installed to get their feedback or advice as to what is in store.
Thanks.
