Question 3.8 block/motor questions, among other things.

What can I say, I have an imagination.

So, I have a 2000 v6 Mustang, that threw a rod straight through the block.
I'm really trying to find a cheap way to have this car back on the road again, and work on mods as time goes on. (My fiance needs a car to drive, and I'd rather her have this one to use and drive than be looking for another car.)

Also, there's the '94 (1994 Mustang v6 auto). Motor is in great condition.
I've been REALLY looking into doing a 5.0/t5 swap. The goal is to find a wrecked 94-95 GT with a good motor/manual transmission.

If I do decide I want to do the 5.0/t5 swap, can I use the bottom end of the '94's v6 to rebuild the 2000? I know they're both the 3.8l V6, with the difference being split port, and fuel/intake stuff like that. But, are the bottom ends interchangeable?

Any input, advice, pats on the shoulder, or money contributions would be greatly appreciated.(just kidding about the last part, sorta )

Thanks in advance, Allen.

I don't know for sure. I'm sorry. But I think you might get all of your answers by checking out the Sticky regarding the "Windstar Install/Upgrade"

Re: 3.8 block/motor questions, among other things.

Thanks for the reply robb15033
Didn't really find what I was looking for.
I do know that the '94 and '00 V6s have the same bore x stroke (3.81x3.39) but that compression is different.
The horsepower difference is due to the split port intakes but was anything done to the bottom end itself?
