Actually if you prep them well and use VHT to spray them they will come out looking like black chrome.

Re: Removing my eblems

Cheapest fix would be get some plastic push-pins (christmas trees). Pop them in the holes and hit the head with some touch-up paint to get the sheen.

You'll be able to see it up close, but will look just fine from a few feet away.

Y take them off? I love and respect the pony emblems. It stands for the mustang. Not criticizing just wondering your reasoning.

Re: Removing my eblems

Yah either black them out or if you want them off the car do as lowflyn said and take some push pins, sand them down flat if you want, paint them the factory black and you'll never know they're there until you're 3in away from the car.

Well here's what I did: I got my old emblems got some spray paint and put two coats on them. Looked great me and my girlfriend were in for a surprise. So I am going to buy some new ones and paint them and get them clear coated

I was able to find these Black/Chrome running horses from a junk yard. Just a suggestion.

Re: Removing my eblems

You could also paint the emblem in some gun metal with an outside thin clearer line, I saw that in other thing but I though it would look awsome on a mustang emblem. anyway you can do some tests and then end up with something you really like and totally unique.

I agree with blacking out the originals or replacements. It'll still be a clean look but retain that nice emblem and keep the hole filled.

I put the blacked out 5.0 on mine. It looks sharp and makes you really have to look to see if I have a 2010 or 2011. You should be able to see it in my sig

Just another quick FYI: The back of my car also has a black Ford oval logo that can be found if you decide to keep some emblems but do it blacked out like I did. Rear bumper reflectors come black also.
When it comes to repainting my car, I'm leaning towards mat black.

OR EVEN A LITTLE DAB OF PERMETEX to fill in hole ,Then touch with paint after it dries

Re: Removing my eblems

i blacked out all my emblems. u did it right but i would suggest sanding it first and then applying a couple coats of clear. so far theyve held up except for my back emblem where i accidentally scratched it with my key
