Not that I know of bro. Doesn't improve much that would make it sound better. Everett might flip **** on me so I'm going to say. "not that I KNOW of" lol

I am pretty positive it won't help sound. Highly doubt it. Mainly transmission for autos and cel stuff.

Re: Deeper sound in exhaust with tuner

Timing and compression are some things effected and the motor runs at its very best but it doesn't directly effect the exhaust tone. In somewhat of the same train of thought, higher ratio gears effect the tone of the exhaust just because of the constant higher RPM's being made. You can hear it and hear more of it.

Re: Deeper sound in exhaust with tuner

A tune probably won't affect your exhaust note but it will affect your auto transmission (if you have one) and cel's, gear/tire changes etc.

As said, gears will "change" the exhaust sound by shifting the rpm's making the engine louder.

About the only other thing that would "change" the sound of the engine, and the exhaust would be to change the bore, stroke and cam timing within the engine...there are a few v6's stroked to 4.2's and heavily built 3.8's that do sound different from a stock 3.8.

Ha...luv ya kid. It will deepen the exhaust tone because your burning more fuel. So will replacing your air filter with a high flow because it's allowing more air. It will be slight but I noticed when I went from paper to K&N.

Re: Deeper sound in exhaust with tuner

no noise change, but on the 2011 5.0 they have a tune out now that will modify the idle sound

Re: Deeper sound in exhaust with tuner

I noticed a difference in sound on mine in the 89 performance tune and also in the 93 race tune, not in the 87 street though. and even more now that I have a CAI. Maybe because its a different engine (4.0)

Today was the first day I loaded up the 93 octane tune and the exhaust is way deeper with just toe into the throttle. When I mat it it sounds like a different animal. God I love this car

Well looks like I cross threaded the plug when I installed the new ones over the winter. Then I advanced the timing big time. Boom
