| 2000 v6 5 speed dash lights! Help!
Hello all this my first post. I recently bought a 2000 v6 5 speed mustang win 87,000 miles. However I am having trouble with the fuse that runs the dash lights. Headlights dome lights and brights work fine but for some reason the fuse keeps blowing as soon as I accelerate. Also I had an aftermarket stereo and I even took the whole thing out and the fuse is still blowing. Also my stereo turned on and worked when I bought it. All of the sudden my stereo would turn on but I couldn't hear anything through the speakers. So I just left the stereo out. Any suggestions or ideas on why I can't hear through my speakers and why the dash light fuse keeps blowing? Do I need a new headlight switch?

Sounds like the there may be a wiring issue. Probably related to the stereo wiring. Electrical problems usually take a good looking. Check all your stereo wiring and then begin tracing the harness under the dash for problems.

Do you have the right amperage for the fuse?

I have tried every amperage of fuse all the way to 30 and they all blew. I'm gunna have to trace the harness. The guy I bought it from did a terrible installing the stereo as I saw when pulled the deck so that's problem number 1. I'm thinking about posting pictures of the cluster f*** of wires behind the stereo if that would help anything or anyone

I installed mine wrongly the first( very newbie mistake) and I blew about 4 fuses.

Same problem with mine but when I pulled off the whole center dash with the radio and AC stuff, I unplugged the cig lighter (might work) and put a new fuse in and they started working. Very weird. I still don't know what the problem is but hey it's fine for the time being
