94-98 Factory headers VS 99-04 Factory headers

When I was looking into after market shorty headers but decided there not worth the money for what you get I did alot of research and found .If your going to go the shorty route on a 99+ get some 94-98 factory headers

1994 to 1998 Specs ----------------------------------- 1999 to 2004 Specs

Collector size 2 1/4 ------------------------------------ Collector size 2
Primary Opening 1 13/16 ------------------------------- Primary Opening 1 9/16
Primary Size 1 9/16 OD ---------------------------------Primary Size 1 3/8 OD
Flange Thickness 5/16 ----------------------------------Flange Thickness 5/16

The 99+ intakes have great flow But for what ever reason Ford made the exhaust port smaller can you say "bottle neck " the 94 to 98 heads exhaust ports are 1 1/2 and the 99+ are 1 3/16 a little porting will correct that and if you don't do it your wasting your time changing headers

94 to 98--------------------------- 99+
Great flow-------------------------- D-side Prone to cracking
d-side not prone to cracking -----------restrict flow
2 1/4 collector ----------------------2 collector
3-1 header --------------------------log header style

Yeah I'm really bored at work

Yupp, still don't have them on, but they're sitting in my stack of exhaust stuff on the back porch.
