Re: ud pulleys

That's probably the one I'd go with...ASP makes a good product and there are dyno results backing up claimed gains.

Re: ud pulleys

Depends on what you want:

UDP - mainly an engine mod that will gain some hp and tq

H pipe - slight power gains and major change in sound...keep in mind that particular h-pipe is for stock or shorty headers. You need the shorter h-pipe if you want long tubes.

Re: ud pulleys

If you get the h-pipe you posted above, it will bolt right up to your stock headers, but you'll have to fab up some pipes for it to work with your current flows. If you still have the y-pipe then you'll have to get it removed and fab up 2 separate pipes to the h-pipe from the flowmaster's pipes.

Re: ud pulleys

A decent exhaust shop should be able to do it no problem...and it shouldn't take very long to do.

They would cut out the stock y-pipe, install the new h-pipe, then weld 2 sections of pipe from the h-pipe to the piping leading to the mufflers.

I wouldn't imagine it taking longer than an hour to do, so don't let an exhaust shop gouge you. If you have a trusted mechanic he might be able to do it too if he has some extra piping lying around.

Re: ud pulleys

H-pipe: 180
Install and Piping:80-150+ (Depends on shop and rates)

Total: 260-400

It really depends on the labor charge and materials charge from the shop.

I'd say the h-pipe will cost more than the udp. Are you installing the udp yourself or having it installed?

Re: ud pulleys

Yah you probably picked the 2 worst mods to compare, lol.

One is strictly power and the other is strictly sound/flow.

You could always get the udp first, install it yourself and have the stock y-pipe cut out and 2 divorced pipes in place of it to your mufflers...that will make the 6 a little bit louder. It won't take too much to fit the h-pipe in later. It also won't break the bank, shouldn't be more than an hour's labor to do it. This way you'd get a little bit of both worlds

Re: ud pulleys

those work pretty good, say 5rwhp/tq or so and they help mileage a bit... they can hurt by dimming the lights while stopped at night a bit and if you have a system it might be a bit of a strain.

Its not just an easy bolt on though you have to take the harmonic balancer off so basically you need air tools.

Re: ud pulleys

well i was hoping it was an easy bolt on. but i talked to a friend last night that installed an xpipe an 14inch magnaflow to his land rover. did his own welds and says he can fab the 2 pieces for my car(but ill prob just have a shop do the pieces and me and my friend install). so im going for the H pipe. im really excited.

if i can sell my amp for my old subs (kenwood 600w) ill be in good shape for summer projects.
