Good trade?

So I have a 98 v6 auto with 99K. My buddy has a 96 v6 5spd that has an intake, 100lb injectors, dual exhaust, short throw, and is geared(75 mph in 2nd). It only has 94k on it. How much more hp do you think it has compares to my car? Thanks

If he wasn't honest about the injectors, I wouldn't trust him on anything else

Re: Good trade?

Regardless of the injector size (which is rediculous) he's not getting 20hp out of those mods, especially an SN95 3.8.

75 MPH in second gear? I don't even think you could go that far with 2.73s... You're buddy is full of it.

Mine has 3.27s and at redline in 2nd is about 55-60ish I think.

Edit: lol, so most likely just stock 2.73s that he's lying about...

Re: Good trade?

So were you thinking about trading him your car for his, because I personally would stick with the one you have. It's newer and sounds like it's not full of b.s.

Re: Good trade?

Ehh throw some 4.10's/tlok in there along with a solid tune really firming up that auto and that 5spd won't ever out shift it. If you want the "shifting" interaction, pick up a B&M Hammer kit...basically a manual without the clutch.

Despite what many say, autos can be fun, and certainly faster

Re: Good trade?

96 v6 5spd -

intake (5 hp)
100lb injectors (makes no scene either way useless)
dual exhaust (5hp)
short throw (zero hp lol)
geared(75 mph in 2nd) (75mph in 2nd means it has HORRIBLE gears, probably 2.73 thus slower by far)

Your car wont be much different honestly, same rear gearing. If one is manual and the other is auto the manual one has a half second advantage. Other wise the 96 V6 is probably .2 tenths of a second faster than stock POSSIBLY.... so figure 16.0-16.5 quarter mile times.

Only reason I would say take it is because it is manual. I hate autos. Heavy and very hard to work on and very expensive. Manual is so much more fun. But your buddy is full of **** and is geared horribly

Bahahaha! Perfect!

B&M hammer is that like a triptronic? Or do you actually have to shift in to first the actually move the stick to second? Or is it a simple shifting up and down literally?

The B&M is different...I believe you have to shift into 1st, then upshift and downshift, if you want to go into reverse you have to click down twice, and up 1 for park or something like that...check youtube for videos, I know there's a couple that show how it works.
