the numbers you state are in optimal conditions. think about exhaust. all you are doing is maybe releasing a little backpressure. that might get a few ponys if any. tuner number is probably most accurate. cai? skeptic. factory intakes breath real well. they might have a more restrictive filter but the filter is bigger. a lot of the things you mentioned will kind of blend together. if you want to see real gains bout the only ways are cam or forced induction. other than that its hard to get cheap power.

ok, first of all, gears definatley dont ad horse power.. just a touch of torque.

so i was check'n yall's math for adding hp. if you can get 10hp from a cai kit id be real surprised. but what you guys need to know is that when the aftermarket companies boast their hp gains, it's across the entire rpm range..not "my car makes 150hp"..got cai kit (10hp), and now my car makes 160hp. that 10hp gain is spread across the rpm range. so overall, if u make 150, after cai.. then u may make 152-155.

so for a given rpm, u will gain a horse here and there... then they ad up all the hp gains across the board and say gain ten hp. but that 10hp isnt in one spot.. it's spread out.

i hope i explained it right so that it makes sense to you guys. i was start'n to see sum ricer math so i had to say something. however, i wish it did work that way, cause id have 675hp instead of 450...lol.

Re: How much hp?

manual cars are around 150-155rwhp/170rwtq stock. With intake/exhaust/Tune probably 15-20more rwhp/tq

If auto then around 135rwhp/160rwtq~ stock

Re: How much hp?

You will gain 20-25 more horsepower at the wheels at a good dyno shop. It helps to have a good tune up before going in. Plugs, fuel filter, fresh fluids in differential, fill up with 93octane before driving in.

every dyno is different, if its a manual trans I would say stock 150-155rwhp is about right, so you added about 20rwhp with your mods~ its possible. Cold weather plays a factor as well as altitude and even what type of dyno and its correction factor etc etc.

Re: How much hp?

you cant really. the drive shaft and rear differential just kinda eat that power. the only way to get that power back is add more power

Would Some under drive pulleys bring it back?

it will free some stress on the belt. but you cant help the power lost through the tranny, driveshaft, and axle. thats just lost power. automatics eat about 30 hp.

Alright I'm listening to what your saying, I kinda agree with that. But 30 hp sounds a bit over the edge don't you think?

automatic trannys are power hogs. you have to know how they work to understand where the power goes. different ones eat more than the other but im gonna say 20 at the least. if you noticed automatics usually have a differ ant gear ratio and rear axle ratio than that of a standard car to make up the difference
