Hello guys, just wondering if any of you knew whether a leak on the exhaust can kill your gas.

thanks!

Re: Exhaust leak - gas mileage?

it my play with the o2s if the leak is bad enough. but no it should not change your mileage. exhaust is going to leave the tailpipe anyway. its just leaving a little sooner than it should lol

Yah the leak shouldn't really affect your mpgs. Damn one of your cats went bad already? Didn't you buy a full exhaust system not too long ago?

I don't know much about the v6 sound. At work we call the v6 mustangs a Taurus with a body kit lol. Since they have the same motor (in same cases) no offense to the v6 guys and gals though. Just a joke.

The new mustangs or the older ones? Because the 99-07 taurus's only had the 2 3.0L engines, not the 3.8's...the 92-95's had the 3.8's but those were the single ports and were slow as balls.

If I'm right the new ones. They look the same. Should be 3.7l's

Yah it's unfortunate it got to that point but what can you do...make sure they install the exhaust correctly and secure all hangars and bolts where sections meet.
