Thumbs up h pipe installed

finally got my h pipe on. cost $194 for everything so it wasnt bad at all. i can tell a huge difference in sound, a lot deeper under 3000rpm. also you can really feel a difference in how the car pulls, it def flows a lot better. its awesome. if your going to upgrade exhaust i say go ahead and get a mid pipe its totally worth it and not too costly.

Re: h pipe installed

Ok, I just wondered since mine is auto also about the gears since you have 4.10s. that's on my short list of to dos along with a tuner. then i will do duals and lower it a bit after, but want to make it a bit quicker first.

usually when you cut off the cats and get a really free flowing system you lose low end power

Re: h pipe installed

Keeping the cats is a good thing, don't want to loose too much back pressure thats for sure. VAP sells an intake spacer for $99.00 and its been one of my favorite mods too.
Regarding your under drive pulleys: I suggest having an impact wrench to disassemble and if you have an issue with your idle lowering too much, just increase it a little on the throttle body till its back up to 900 or so. You'll like the UD pulleys too. Good luck, congrats!

The truth about exhaust backpressure and torque

also do not adjust the idle screw on your throttle body. it is factory set to a point and the PCM controls the idle with the IAC. moving that screw will only set a code. if you want to idle your car up use a tuner. but do not touch that screw.

Your not right in regards to either of your posts. your entitled to your own opinion though. Ignorance is scary, it pops up quickly when someone has to justify their own actions.

im a technician at a ford dealer and i specialize in electronics. and your right ignorance is scary. you obviously have no idea what your doing. research before you make a post, especially if you have no idea what your talking about. but go ahead. enlighten me. if you control the idle with that screw whats the IAC valve for? and what is back pressure? you seem to have all the answers

I am going to answer both questions but if I go through the effort of posting the facts, I'd like a promise that you please not post anything at all for a while. You are in no way a technician for Ford, never installed under drive pulleys, or worked with exhaust. Your not fooling anyone. I will leave your words here for others to read. This guy is not getting any beneficial help by me responding to you. I love you, be careful today in the Ford garage. Bye.

i dont know. he said he loved me so i told him back. i just dont like seeing people giving out false info to ppl. if blackonblack does what he says with the throttle then he is going to get problems such as lean at idle and iac engine overspeed.

Re: h pipe installed

What happens if u have already messed with the throttle's idle screw?

I was having problems with my iac and my friend who is also a ford mechanic cleaned my throttle while he was changing my iac - i saw him mess with the idle screw he said he had to close the throttle or somehting?

mine's actually a v8 and a convertable, but interior sound is just fine. Not to extreme but outside is impressive.
