Re: used gears and tlock

In reality a used tlok can be rebuilt. New clutch discs and shims will help out a ton but I would still buy new. You really don't know the condition of the tlok until you actually get the damn thing and sometimes the spider gears can be weakened, and at that point it's basically shot.

You definitely don't want to buy used gears. The wear patterns alone are going to cause whine, noises, and possibly grinding while going down the road.

I personally would spend the extra cash and buy new components...drivetrain isn't something you want to cheap out on.

yeah. as long as you know what to look for when buying used gears. i found used gears for mine but i found out i could buy a new set for like 100 more. the 100 was worth not having to worry to me. id rather not have to worry about replacing it again i something aint right

Re: used gears and tlock

you simply never know, used gears/tlok can whine and have issues~ its just a risk you have to take. Also, you cant just throw them in as they require some settings to get right~ so you have to know what you are doing in that respect.
