A lot of people use it...I wouldn't use it on a day to day basis on stock internals and a stock rear, but with a real good, solid tune and proper install you'd be fine with a 50-75 wet shot and occasional use.
Nitrous is similar to any power adder or serious addition of fuel or air to the engine. Proper install and tuning are key.
Now I wouldn't say proper install and a good tune will make you invincible...any time you modify your engine or add to it you take the chance of damaging something, but the chances are much greater if you don't do things right the first time,.
