Quick Question?

My trunk on my 2000 v6 is kinda hard to open feels like it's heavy. Like it's fighting me lol. I was just wondering if this could be because I need new trunk lifts? I just want to make sure before I spend $ on it. Please keep in my mind this is my first car so I don't know much, but I'm learning.

Re: Quick Question?

I have the same thing going on on my 98 stang gt, it feels like i'm doing a dead lift with weights plus i have to open it all the way or it will just slam shut, come down just an inch and there it goes, they are bad so replace them, but don't go cheep, you get what you pay for, i've had new ones blow out on me before. my suggest is stick with ford.

It's just a common problem with the old shocks, just get oem replacement ones if you do replace. I honestly don't care, but that's just me

Re: Quick Question?

Use a broom stick to hold the trunk open.......or some new shocks.

Re: Quick Question?

FYI, the oil will leak out of them when they go bad, and it can damage the paint. Not a place people look often, but it matters to me.
