Just save up for the tuner, better that way also so that it can adjust speedo, and trans shift points so that you can get the most for you money ( tuner will do more than that thou). Always say if you can't do it right then don't do it or you'll be sorry you did.

Re: TLOK NEXT, BUT...

Yah as said the 99-04's had the digital readout, so the colored gears won't work .

You might as well get the tuner. As Darkshadows said you can adjust the speedometer for the gear changes, as well as tune that auto transmission. After the taller gears and tuning to your auto, the car will feel completely different, like night and day perfomance wise. The 4R70W's are horrible from the factory regarding shift points. Clearly the engineers had daily driving and economy in mind lol.

im sure they had other things in mind lol

if i were to get a dyno and later on i get things done to my car and i use a programmer - would the programmed delete whatever the dyno do? Or would it only change whatever i tell it to?

Would change it but a dyno is better for the car. But with the mods you have the difference is very little

A dyno will run about 60-200 dollars and the gain for your car will be about 10-20 while a tuner is 370 tunes for life and gains are about 10-15

Re: TLOK NEXT, BUT...

I have heard 4.10 is best for performance on an automatic v6 - but if u are a daily driver or drive on the hwy a lot maybe 3.73 is best... I think im going with 3.73 on mine and a tlok

Ok now you do know a place that dyno's will need a tuner to do anything on the car? You can't just bring it to a dyno and they plug up a magic cable to change settings. A tuner is needed regardless.

Still need a tuner to do so. It's the only way for them to interface with the locked ecu.
