Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

Hey guys... need a bit of advice if your willin' to give it.

I've got a shopping list of items I'd like to put on my 2000 v6 - Lemme know what you think.

Brakes/rotors -

Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads (1999-2004 Mustang GT/V6 Front Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
DBA Cross-drilled/Slotted Mustang Rotors (94-04 GT/V6 Rear Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
DBA Cross-drilled/Slotted Mustang Rotors (94-04 GT/V6 Front Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Supen -

Tokico HP Series Strut (94-04 Mustang) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping
Tokico HP Series Shock (94-04 Mustang excl. IRS Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
Eibach Pro Kit Mustang Springs at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

"performance"
BBK 65mm Mustang Throttle Body (01-04 V6) at AmericanMuscle - Free Shipping!
BBK Mustang Shorty Headers (99-04 V6) at AmericanMuscle - Free Shipping!
Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter and Mach 1 Shift Knob Combo Pack (T-5/T-45) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
Ford Racing 3.73 Gears (99-04 GT) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Not sure what I'm going to do on the dual pipes yet..... Advice on that would be great....

I plan to port the upper and lower intake and buy a 8.8 rear end ( thus the 3.73s and throttle body )

Any other bolt on's that I could do? ( Anyone got a clue on what all bolt on parts would get me to HP wise? )

Also I've got a parts car... 60k miles on motor and trans. ( auto ) I love the car as a 5 speed... but... at the same time Don't know if i should just rebuild the trans.... or convert it to automatic to save a bit of cash for other upgrades?

Well go to a shop for a muffler but most people like a h mid pipe and flowmaster. Rebuild the manual trans isn't too bad. For lowering spring look into cc plates and alignment . You don't need that tb waste of money. Look into a windstar intake and a tuner.

Re: Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

Brakes/rotors -

Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads
- Good pads, they can have brake dust issues, for a daily driver no real need go OEM unless you want a tiny bit more stopping power.

DBA Cross-drilled/Slotted Mustang Rotors
- Dont do anything for performance, just looks. Some brands (not sure on these no idea) warp fast and you cant have slotted/drilled rotors turned FYI....

Supen -

Tokico HP Series Strut (94-04 Mustang)
- good shock/strut you need to check the valving to see what spring rates they are best matched to. Should be fine for most around 450-600.

Eibach Pro Kit Mustang Springs
- Good spring, not super stiff I dont think so if you want handling performance you may want to go with a spring 600+ rate in front~ they may be just check. Another alternative is H&R race springs VERY stiff

"performance"
BBK 65mm Mustang Throttle Body (01-04 V6)
- These dont add anything dont waste your money until you have FAR more hp/tq than stock (like 300rwhp+)

BBK Mustang Shorty Headers (99-04 V6)
- These also dont add any hp/tq dont waste your money, spend it on other things

Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter and Mach 1 Shift Knob Combo Pack
- Good shifter, but MGW is better feeling and location~ just something to consider either works great though.

Ford Racing 3.73 Gears (99-04 GT)
- You need them for the V6 not GT different size rear ends, plus if you do that on install you need to do a tlok as well (so both wheels turn) same effort to install gears as tlok~ also expect install to run you 200 to well... the sky is the limit BUT GET IT DONE CORRECTLY!!!!

Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit
- They are mainly for looks but help hp/tq a little bit.

Re: Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

Well thank you on the info. Actually suprised that the headers won't add a little more of a rumble to the v6 after i figure out what i'm gonna do with the exhast..

this isn't going to be a daily driver this was my first car at 19 I wanna keep her for life if i can.... lol 21 now and own a 2011 v6 stang w/ 3.31 gears thats the d/d

Also since no to the slotted/drilled rotors... should I just go with OEM?

Ford Racing 3.73 Gears - I was planning on trying to find a 8.8 rear so I wouldnt have a need for t-lok? but will consider this... like i said i am noobish when it comes to modding... granted i know cars I just have no clue what to do to mine sadly.

Also. Do you guys have any other bolt on suggestions ( I know under drive pullies but i can't seem to find any for the 03 motor that will be put into the 00 ) and any guesses on what the hp ( at the crank ) would be with this? I'm not trying to make a track car.. I just want to give her a lil more ponies to this ole girl'

Re: Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

headers will change the sound just not the hp/tq very much

stock 193/225 at the engine not rear end of course. With all the bolt ons and a tune you may pick up 20-25hp~/tq if you build the motor you can get up to 230rwhp or so maybe more if you stroke it to a 4.2L

Re: Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

i dont think a throttle will make much of a difference... i would stick to the one you have. i would however look into a dual exhaust.

Re: Shopping list of goodies/Advice for noob

ford C springs work on V6's just fine and are 600 front rate 300~ rear (linear spring) you can cut a bit for more drop if you wish.
