There's this kit from supersixmotorsports.com and it's upper and lower manifold, and heads all polished any hp gain from this? With a cam?

So I should probably buy heads, lower and upper manifolds, and a cam from supersixmotorsports. And rebuild my engine? And it will gain more hp

Re: From super six motor sports

depends on how much of a port, how much work on heads, what valve side on heads, what cam specs, etc it all plays a part but the final result is good power when done right. I am sure they have dynos with different packages on their site.

Ok so I do wanna build a new 3.8 liter engine for a project. I wanna get another 3.8 liter block which I might have soon. And ima order those parts from supersixmotorsports and cam the motor. And forged pistons. And ima get a throttle body for it. And a turbo kit. That should be enough hp to play around with. Prolly 300 something hp.

Re: From super six motor sports

Now I'm just putting this out there...not trying to deter you from building a turbo six.

What you will probably spend on a complete engine rebuild, along with a turbo and all the tuning, and support mods, possibly labor if you don't do it yourself, you can probably put a third to a half down on a used 05-06 GT, 03/04 Mach 1, or 01 Cobra, all with ~300-320 hp at the crank. Or if you sold your current v6 you could probably damn near pay for a v8.

Just saying that the hp goal you're aiming for could be a starting point on a better platform. Plus, 300hp might get old after some time...you'll be wanting more and you'll really need deep pockets to achieve more with the six.

Again, I'm not trying to tell you modding a v6 is a waste or pointless, there a bunch of them out there and they are cool, but do consider other options and really decide what your overall goals are before spending any money.

Re: From super six motor sports

I've seen quite a few 05-09 GT's in decent condition up here for under 16k. Right now people really aren't buying "toys", so the fun cars are sitting on the lots while the econo cars sell. I've watch quite a few mustangs in the area drop down in price because they simply aren't selling.

There's always a good deal on the car you're looking for...it's out there, you might have to drive across the country to get it but it's out there, lol.

My wife and I often talk about how fun it would be to find a kick *** car in California and drive it home on epic road trip.

Not to knock super six..but also check out Tom Morana's website. Tom was the first to go under 9 secs in the quarter..I have his stage 2 plus heads, B grind cam 1.73:1 roller rockers Steeda underwrite pulley, VAP Auto's Windstar upper intake. 255 rwhp is the result. Period.

Re: From super six motor sports

If you are acquiring a whole other block, that's probably the point you should just have started with a V8.

I'm all for building a V6, but I will be using the block I already have and adding the peripherals to it.
