Ok. Now here is my point. I bought my car(running at the time blew the motor an dropped an 01 in it for 1500) for 4800. That's a v8 cobra. And even with your turbo kit. I'm sure you would still not keep up. Now my point is that I now have a good base to start with. If I want to spend 2000 and get a turbo for it I could see as much as 650hp. That's why I'm saying it's not worth it for a v6

Found mine on craigslist. Took me a month or two to find one worth buying but it was worth the wait. The motor was good when I bought it. I blew it up by overwrapping it

Lol there you go. The main resin I told him to start with a v8 is because he sounded stretched for money. The v6 would cost too much to make it run like the new Camaro. Bottom line imho

Lol. When I went to college I was stretched for money.

There is a limit on the v6 mustang where you just can't get much more out of it. And that limit is much higher with a v8. And besides. The old v8s are cheap now. You can get one at a good deal. Just let a shop look it over and make sure it's not a lemon

Well like I'm not like rich but I work my tail off everyday so I have some cash. The reason I want a newer v8 are the split ports and the body style.

What is nice about the modular v8s is how you can change to any modular v8 from any year and it will fit right in. You can buy a gt and drop a cobra engine in it and it would work. So you can buy any body style you want and you can put any engine in it you want

What's so wrong with that? For the first few years my wife and I were together she had a GT and I had a V6. Guess what, life goes on.

Please do some research. You're throwing out terms that make no sense.

Split port deals with the 3.8/3.9 engine models. 94-98 3.8's were all single port and 99-04 were all split ports. It's more than just swapping intakes, you have to swap heads, intakes, fuel rails, etc...

It doesn't exactly work that way...the 6.8 V10 is a modular motor as well. Also, the new 3v 4.6 and 4v 5.4's don't simply bolt into a new-edge or SN95 model car.

The 5.4 out of an F150 will take much modification to work in a Mustang, not to mention it won't have the power you would expect. You'd be better off building a 4v 4.6 and going from there.

May as well be happy to have something that runs... 4v 6v 8v if it's a mustang it's a mustang. Be glad for what you have. And wait. Wait for that v8 if you have a v6 and your not satisfied good comes to those who wait. They are always making something better. Let your gf take the lead for now. I encouraged my fiancé to get a camaro I had no problem with it. What ever makes her happy. Sounds like your a little bit jealous. And you shouldn't be. Bc in the end you will end up with something ur satisfied with.

Lol I like how you come on like once a day and throw out just blunt facts. Not trying to be rude. . Just sayin I find it kinda funny.
I didn't mention the v10 because I knew it was a pain to make work. It can work it's just a pain. Ant the 5.4 out of a f150 wasn't that bad. We just took an intake off a 5.4 mustang. And the oil pan. And a few other minor things. And we got it in. I'm not boasting that its a powerhouse or anything. But the guy just wanted to say he had a 5.4.
When I said that the modular motors dropped in I wasn't trying to make it sound like a piece of cake. It's just easier than trying to do the same with dodge and chevy(to an extent) the ls series arnt too bad

That's all I was going for. Don't want to give someone the idea they can go out and pick up and engine and swap it all in in an evening with no help...it just doesn't work that way. Sometimes I wish it did though...

As far as when I get on here, it's when I have time. You're lucky, I have time tonight.

Lol. It just humors me when I see you so bluntly tell someone they don't know what they are talkin about. But hey. I'm sure your a wealth of knowledge. I catch myself usually agreeing with you.

Re: What to do with my car?

Here's reality...our cars are outdated, plain and simple. 94-04 v6's, GT's, hell even Mach 1's and N/A Cobras...the only new edges that still have a chance these days in stock form are the 03/04 cobras.

Look at the technology in the new cars...bolt ons and tuning yield way better gains than previous generations...the engineering and power output is much more impressive (in stock form). The technology in our vehicles can't compete with that, not without spending a considerable amount of money.

What I'm trying to say is don't worry about trying to have the fastest car...who cares if your girlfriend has the faster car, that's not important (right now), getting those panties droppin' is the bomb diggity

If you want a "faster" car than the one you currently have, buy a newer v6 or v8. Giving your situation (high school age), V6: 99-04 3.8/3.9 V8: 99-04 GT or an 94-98/01 cobra. You should be able to find one in decent shape with fair miles for ~10k. Again, it depends on what you can spend.

If I were you I'd keep the current v6, tell the gf to go make me a sandwich, go to college, graduate, buy a new GT...beat the gf's p.o.s. Camaro, still spank that *** and be making some coin
